Women Battling Multiple Sclerosis was started in response to the pitfalls, heartaches, and pushbacks its President and founder Tiffany Toney experiences after being diagnosed with MS. As a woman battling multiple sclerosis, she found that it’s important to have a network of support. And it didn’t matter how little or great that support was.

We believe that by giving women the opportunity to learn from each other, we can help them better manage their MS and lead happier lives.
President Toney started the organization in 2021 after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. She wanted to create an online community and community outreach where women could connect with each other and share their experiences, fears, hopes, and dreams.
President Toney found that the diagnosis took center stage in her life. And caused her to consume her days with worry and dread. Each unfamiliar ache and pain was amplified with the question, “Is this MS.” And as her ability to work became more and more strenuous.. She took her fear, rebranded it into a mission. She wanted to help other women who were experiencing the same fear, dread, and uncertainty that she felt.
WBMS aims to provide support, education and resources to women living with MS and neurodegenerative diseases under the MS umbrella while raising awareness about the disease. MS is a chronic and unpredictable disease that affects the central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord. It can cause problems with balance, vision and other functions.
In its mission to serve as a resource through education, community outreach, troubleshooting, and advocacy. The goal of WBMS is to help people take back control of their lives—we know that life is worth fighting for! WBMS is a national organization serving the MS community by providing education, resources, and support. Our mission is to promote awareness of women’s issues related to MS and other neurodegenerative diseases, as well as provide support for those living with these diseases.
